NATHAN Clarke made his first appearance for City tonight after signing a one-year deal.
But the hosts took the lead after 11 minutes with a Mikey Roberts penalty after he was fouled in the box by James Meredith.
City's best chance fell in the first half to Josh Morris, whose lob was cleared off the line by Mark Robinson.
Phil Parkinson named a very strong starting line-up but changed them all at the break, including another trialist in midfielder Luke Woodland from Bolton. But he was subbed half an hour later.
CITY: Williams, McMahon, Clarke, McArdle, Meredith, Routis, Liddle, Knott, Morris, Clarke, Hanson. Subs: Cracknell, Hendrie, Balatoni, Sheehan, Leigh, Mottley-Henry, Wright, Woodland, Marshall, Davies, James.
