CITY opened their Scottish tour with a 3-0 win over Premier League Motherwell at the Grangemouth Stadium this afternoon.

Trialist left back Greg Leigh scored right on half-time to fire them in front, collecting a pass from Luke James and dummying keeper Dan Twardzik before smashing home.

The visitors then doubled the advantage after 63 minutes when Alan Sheehan, one of eight newly-arrived substitutes, beat Twardzik at his near post with a fierce drive from the edge of the penalty area.

And James Hanson made it 3-0 seven minutes later when he dispatched a free header from Tony McMahon's corner - his third pre-season goal already.

But the Bantams suffered an injury blow in the first half when young striker Joe Brennan had to be stretchered off after landing awkwardly. It looks like he might have damaged his knee ligaments.

Motherwell had earlier had the best chances with Stephen McManus hitting the bar and Louis Laing's header denied in front the line.
