CITY target Andy Williams yesterday agreed a three-year deal with League One rivals Doncaster.

Williams was understood to have been on the Bantams' radar after his 22 goals helped Swindon reach the League One play-off final last term.

Surprisingly, he will be released by Town when his contract expires at the end of this month and he is believed to have had offers from several clubs.

The Bantams and Doncaster were thought to be competing for the striker's signature before he opted to join Paul Dickov's side.

Rovers boss Dickov confirmed: "There were a lot of clubs interested in Andy; clubs close to us logistically and clubs in the Championship.

"When Andy came here to look around, he was impressed with the structure of the club, the stadium and the training ground, so he will fit in nicely.

"He is lethal with his right foot but can also score with his left and with his head. That was something that was missing last season and if we had that, I believe we would have finished in the top six."

Meanwhile, Matty Dolan has agreed to sign for Yeovil Town on a two-year deal from July 1.

The midfielder, released from Valley Parade at the end of last season, previously spent time on loan at Huish Park in 2013.

City's Capital One Cup tie at York City has been confirmed for Tuesday, August 11 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
