STAMFORD Bridge FA Cup hero Andy Halliday looks to be on his way out of City.

Although the club have yet to confirm news on the midfielder's future, it is believed that he has not been offered anything for next season.

Halliday made 32 appearances for the Bantams last term and scored three goals – his sweeping first-time strike from the edge of the box to fire them ahead against Chelsea ensuring his name will go down in club folklore.

The Scot, signed initially on loan from Middlesbrough in November, was also on target in the previous round when City destroyed Millwall at Valley Parade.

But he dropped down the pecking order in March and hardly featured after the deflating quarter-final replay exit against Reading, suffering a hamstring strain and starting only one of the last 11 games.

Phil Parkinson has already released midfield pair Matty Dolan and Jason Kennedy, who has signed a two-year deal with Carlisle.

The City boss is still waiting to sit down with Mark Yeates, who is not due to return from holiday until next week.

Jon Stead is also currently away as the Bantams look to make his move permanent and head off growing interest from Chesterfield.

New Spireites boss Dean Saunders, a long-term fan of the 32-year-old, identified Stead as his number one choice of target man when he took over the hot-seat a fortnight ago.

City are still favourites to get the deal done after the striker's very successful loan spell and Stead insisted earlier this month that he was in no immediate hurry.

But the serious noises coming out of the Proact Stadium suggest they will try to push things along when Stead returns next week.

Meanwhile, season-ticket sales have now passed the 5,000 mark – a third of the way towards the total the club are banking on. The reduced £149 prices run until Sunday, July 5.
