STEVE Clarke insists City have not had it any tougher with the fixture schedule before tonight's FA Cup replay.

While the Bantams face their third away game on the trot, Reading have been at home twice.

But Clarke believes there is no advantage in terms of preparation and the Royals boss said: "I think for both teams it's been equally as difficult.

"It's still a difficult juggling act. At the end of the game tonight, we'll find out who got it right."

Clarke feels that Phil Parkinson deserves a rousing reception for what he achieved with Reading.

He said: "He's done well for the club. Any time I go back to Stamford Bridge, I get a good reception from the fans.

"When you've been at a club and you've done well for them, it's nice to go back and be appreciated."

Alex Pearce trained yesterday and is expected to play despite breaking his nose at Valley Parade. Nathaniel Chalobah and Jordan Obita are also thought to be doubts.

Reading are favourites with the bookies but Clarke warned: "This one you can never call.

"Why would they go in thinking it will be an easy game? If you saw the first game at Bradford, you will know it's not going to be easy.

"If both teams can reach that level of competitiveness again, it should be a terrific night."
