BOSS Tony Humes reckons the Colchester mood remains upbeat despite their late heartbreak against Sheffield United.

The U's imploded to concede three late goals and mar Humes' first home game at the helm. Yet he believes morale is high for the Bantams clash tomorrow.

"The result was disappointing for everyone but for 82 minutes, we were very good," he said.

"That's what we've got to remain positive on and take that into this game. The staff are upbeat and we expect the players to be.

"There were a few sad faces (in training) yesterday morning but we got them up and we got them working to get it out of their system.

"The performance was so positive and we have to remain in that frame of mind."

Humes is braced for a tough encounter as Phil Parkinson returns to the club where he cut his teeth as a manager.

He said: "Phil has done well wherever he has gone.We know Bradford are going to be very organised and they'll be difficult to beat.

"Bradford had a good victory at MK Dons on Tuesday night. They played a bit more – I think they dropped off and hit on the counter a little bit more.

"When (James) Hanson's in the team, they perhaps are a little more direct. But without him, they may well change the pattern of play."

Striker Freddie Sears did not train yesterday because of a stiff back but should feature. Jabo Ibehre (knee) and skipper Magnus Okuonghae (suspended) are definitely out.
