CITY won't have to splash out on a new water tank for the training ground – after getting one for free.

Low Moor company Mitton Mechanical Services have provided one for nothing to ensure the practice pitch at Woodhouse Grove remains in perfect nick for pre-season.

City director of operations David Baldwin said: "It's a massive tank which fills up through the night and it's able to provide much greater pressure than a normal sprinkler system.

"The demand for watering the pitch is obviously a lot greater this time of the year with the much drier weather. This is a massive help to make sure the grass doesn't die out."

Mitton, who are avid City fans, have helped the club before to sort out drainage issues at Valley Parade.

Company director Steven Taylor said: "We've enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Bradford City and always like to help out where we can."
