Long-term commercial backer Jack Tordoff feels City are going the right way to putting their name back in lights once more.

The logo of his Bradford-based motor group JCT600 is now emblazoned on the main stand at Valley Parade as well as across the front of the team shirts.

The stand sponsorship will initially run for the next two years, the remainder of the current kit deal, but both sides are confident that will be extended.

JCT founder and City honorary life president Tordoff said: “It’s wonderful to see our name up there. Valley Parade looked empty without it.

“Hopefully we might go up another division this season, you never know.

“Bradford City are starting to get back to where they should be and they are doing it in a good steady way. They are not over-stepping the mark and that’s very important.

“When they get there, doing it that way, they can stay there. Get there by spending too much money and then finding you fail is disastrous.

“It’s built on a very solid basis now. Mark Lawn and Julian Rhodes have done a wonderful job.”

City director of operations David Baldwin stressed that the club’s cut-price season-ticket pledge hinged on bringing in the right commercial deals.

He said: “They have a direct representation on the income we are able to charge for season-tickets. The contribution from our commercial sponsors helps to keep the prices down.

“The less sponsors we have in the club, the more we would need to recover that income from somewhere else.

“The relationship between us at the club and the likes of Jack and JCT is very informal. We both have a very close affinity with the city.

“I see it as one big family. We are all pulling in the same direction.

“This is another demonstration that we are building things the right way and building them with longevity. There’s no boom and bust here.

“I’m into my eighth year at the club and it’s all about making forward, progressive steps. Sometimes they might be tippy-toe but the danger of making giant leaps is that you can end up falling over the precipice.”
