Nahki Wells at pre-season training
Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony today revealed that they tried to sign Nahki Wells from City.
Responding to a question on his personal Twitter account, MacAnthony confirmed that a bid had been rejected for the Bermuda international.
The T&A understands that the offer was made just over a fortnight ago by Posh director of football Barry Fry to one of City's co-owners.
City have made it clear that they do not want to sell Wells, who top-scored with 26 goals last season, and would only listen to offers that Phil Parkinson deems good enough to bring in a replacement.
It would also seem unlikely that Wells, who has another two years on his contract, would be interested by another League One club.
