Bradford City will appeal Doyle red card
11:26am Monday 26th November 2012 in Bantams
By Simon Parker, Bradford City Reporter
City have confirmed they WILL be appealing to get Nathan Doyle's Bristol Rovers red card overturned.
Phil Parkinson took advice this morning before deciding that the club will go-ahead with an attempt to rescind the midfielder's dismissal.
He said: "It was very harsh on Nathan and we feel there are grounds to appeal it."

t see anything other than the tackle worth a red.....it looks a no brainer to appeal it, but i said that about Dave Syers and was amazed when his appeal failed. Let's hope common sense prevails this time.

Freddy - The RR card was not appealed as Jonny Mac said at a fans forum, despite the evidence of the player falling over, and admitting it on Twitter. The ref would still be backed up by the FA.

Many thanks " Rambo" for your info. I have been dismayed at the Club's failure to follow through, their original statement of an appeal, on behalf of R.Ravenhill. With no publicised reason for their withdrawal of his appeal.
*
I am hoping that IF the Club follows through with Doyle's appeal . That as some commentators have said--It will NOT enhance the punishment; even though The FA ( F*ck All) will no doubt refuse to change the Referees idiotic, misguided, useless- totally wrong decision.
*
BUT WE LIVE IN HOPE--THAT THERE MAY BE SOMEONE AT THE FA--WHO HAS COMMON SENSE-AND THE BALLS -TO MAKE THE CORRECT DECISION.!!--I know, and (PIGS MIGHT FLY!!!).

Instead of having to go through the appeals process, I don't see why the ref cannot just admit they made a mistake, and the red card be rescinded, but they chose to hide behind the F.A, just as D'Urso did the other week, when he wrongly sent off Ravenhill.
Maybe they are not allowed to admit to their mistakes as if would show their incompetence.
It's very difficult to have respect for refs, when they never admit to their mistakes or are held accountable for them.

Watched it on a recording of the FL show. It looks like Doyle was aggresive running towards the 'melee' but was pulled away by McHugh, also he gave lots of 'verbals' aimed at the Bristol players. I don't know whether that warrants a straight red, I wouldn't think so but any appeal will depend on the ref's report. If he admits he might have got it wrong then I guess the club will appeal. If he cites Doyle it will not be worth it. It still looks like 'Dukeys' weakness is long range shots low down. I thought all three of our goals were superb. Here's hoping for an appeal.”

They should prepare a written Judgement setting out the reasons for the decision they reach. It is called being transparent and may, just may start to generate respect. Secret courts smacks of repressive states.
McGhee even says no one was kicked:the fact he sent of the wrong bristol player will emerge as that player will appeal and, threfore, any true arbiter will see that the referree got it ALL wrong
