How quickly football fortunes change.
Just over a fortnight ago, Lincoln’s gloating fans were taunting Stuart McCall with a chant of “you’re getting sacked in the morning”.
Instead, it was Peter Jackson who became the first League Two managerial victim of the season.
That fortuitous win at Valley Parade, which Jacko celebrated with a jig on the edge of the pitch, was Lincoln’s only one in the last six games; and also the only time they scored.
The supporters turned and Jacko paid the price on Wednesday.
I’m sure he will be back. He is one of the great characters at our level. But who’d be a football manager?
