Octobers have not been fun for City

By Simon Parker »

Don’t take a peak at the calendar but it’s here again – Black October.

This is the month where City’s chances of a win are usually about as high as a grizzly’s of surviving a Sarah Palin hunting trip.

It’s amazing to think that Colin Todd won the manager of the month for October four years ago after his side racked up five victories on the bounce.

Since then, the month of Halloween has churned out one horror show after another. Think back to Blackpool in 2006 or Accrington at home last year and shudder.

Did you know it is three years since City last picked up three points in October?

Remember Andy Cooke shinning in a last-minute winner to settle a dour struggle with Gillingham at Valley Parade?

The 11 October fixtures since that afternoon in 2005 have produced three draws and eight defeats.

Records are there to be broken. This one needs smashing.
