So let’s get this straight.
Not content with demanding their own national anthem at Wembley and an English European place if they win, Cardiff have now had their sent-off skipper restored for the cup final – by the Welsh
FA.
Darren Purse’s foul on Andrew Cole, which left the striker needing ten stitches, may have taken place in Burnley but the
automatic three-match ban was wiped out by football chiefs based in, err, Cardiff.
Can’t have the captain not playing on our team’s big day-out, can we? It seems Cardiff are as Welsh as a daffodil when they want to be but English when it suits ie: when there is a few
quid in it or a proper football competition to play in.
So what will it be next week?
Maybe an insistence that Max Boyce has to be referee with Shakin Stevens and Charlotte Church running the line. Or Cardiff goals will count double in the event of the draw – after all, they are
playing in a foreign country…
