Lizzie Armitstead to get heroes' return home

A cycling cavalcade will welcome home an Olympic medal winner tonight.

Women’s cycling silver medalist Lizzie Armitstead will be given a hero’s welcome when she returns to Otley at 6.30pm. She will be escorted through the town by the calvalcade while she greets well-wishers and supporters from a bus.

Organisers of the event, Otley Town Council, are encouraging people to join in the calvalcade by bringing their own bikes.

To take part, meet at West Lodge, off Farnley Lane at 6.15pm. The cavalcade will then go along Farnley Lane, Bridge Street, Clapgate, Kirkgate, Bondgate, Crossgate and Boroughgate, getting to the Market Place at 6.45pm.
