Archers Danielle Brown, who was born in Steeton, and Phillip Bottomley of Shipley have been named in the ParalympicsGB team to compete at London 2012.
Beijing champion Brown is believed to be the first-ever disabled athlete to win a gold medal for Team England at the Commonwealth Games in a non-disabled event.
Commenting on her selection, she said: “I’m delighted to have secured my place at the Paralympic Games and I’m really excited to be taking part in what will be a fantastic summer of sport.
“The Paralympics is the event to be involved with and it just doesn’t get any better when it’s in your own country.
“I will be going to the Games as the defending champion but the competition gets tougher every year as the standards are rising all the time.”
Meanwhile, Bottomley will make his Paralympic debut and said: “I’m so proud to be representing my country at the Games and it really is a dream come true.”
