Birkenshaw under-nines may have gone 11 matches unbeaten but they are still on the look-out for new players.

Bradford Bulls under-15s coach Tom Duff is in charge of the juniors at this level, as well as being an assistant to the open age team.

With currently only six or seven players on match days, they had to call up Henry Davies from the under-eights team, who, despite playing up an age group, did not disappoint. He scored two tries on his debut against well- established Halifax outfit Elland.

The junior outfit will move into the under-tens league when the season finishes and the new division will see the club have to field more players, as the game becomes 11-a-side.

They are looking for at least four or five players and if anyone is interested in joining the club, training is at their home pitch at East Bierley playing fields, off Hunsworth Lane, on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7pm.

Birkenshaw are also searching for under-sevens and under-eights players to join up with training at the same time as the under-nines. For more information telephone Duff on 07789-376281.
