Tiler on the up

Denholme’s Rebekah Tiler has won her first British weightlifting competition.

The Under-13 Development Cup was held at Ashington in Northumbria and Tiler took gold with a combined weight for the snatch and clean and jerk of 90kg.

The Bingley Harrier, who trains at the Perform Centre in Rossendale, has only been training since February this year but weightlifting coach Dave Bell was pleased with her performances.

She is now looking forward to her second competition next month at Ellesmere Port.
