ELEVEN athletes from Bradford & District have qualified for the West Yorkshire team following the West Yorkshire Schools' Cross-Country Championships at Silcoates School, near Wakefield.

They are Reuben Mantle and George Dey, who completed a one-two in the junior boys' race, and Emile Cairess (winner) and third-placed James Habergham in the senior boys' race.

Lucy Williamson (fifth) and Lydia Farley (eighth) came through via the senior girls' race, as did Sarah Pickering and Jemina Elgood (intermediate girls) and Oliver Daffern and Matthew Merrick (intermediate boys'), who were fifth and sixth respectively in their races.

Also qualifying for the national schools' championships in Blackburn on Saturday, March 14 was Bethan Morley, who was sixth in the junior girls' race.
