Denholme were at home to neighbours Oxenhope in the Upper Airedale Junior Association’s Keighley Cup2000 League for under-17s.

No 3 Toby Priestley (43) gave Oxenhope cause for anguish after opener Isaac Murray made 19 but the Denholme innings faded away to 83-8.

It might have been significantly more had not Josh Ferguson posted 6-19.

Three early wickets for Oxenhope added to the tension, and it was No 4 Joshua Kiteley (31) who settled nerves and paved the way for 84-4 to be reached inside 17 overs.

Embsay batsmen enjoyed a run spree, with 53 to Joe Metcalfe and 38 to Morgan Davies, and double figures to all the others in their 148-3.

Metcalfe went on to pick up 2-6 in restricting Cowling to 62-6, 26 going to 2012 under-15 lead batsman Sam Solley.

With even more runs on the board, Skipton got their win column started thanks to 53 for Joe Lumb player George Sutcliffe and Josh Mullinder.

On the receiving end were seven-man Haworth, who could not prevent Skipton from scoring 162-8, Daniel Smith taking 4-39 off 4.3.

Jacob Hudson scored a useful 24 but seven-man Haworth only reached 57-6.

Leaders Upper Wharfedale gave Gargrave their first defeat, bowling them out for 90. Rory Smith added 33 but 4-20 from James Raper and 3-25 from Jake Parkinson applied the brakes.

Joe Lumb skipper Callum Lockett (50) and Charlie Slater (24) allowed no glimmer of a fightback and victory came by ten wickets in 10.3 overs.

Visitors Oakworth batted first at second-placed Wilsden and made 89-4 (James Lee 27, Ben Whitfield 3-11). No 3 Sami Rehman (41) propelled Wilsden to the points in 14.3.
