Oakbank pupil Nathan Connelly has been given a special role over the next few days.
The 16-year-old is the ambassador for the West Yorkshire School Games.
His citation reads: “Nathan has made a difference to sport in his local community and was nominated by his headteacher to be the young person representative on the West Yorkshire School Games Local organising Committee.
“He is working hard to ensure the School Games delivers what young people want it to.”
