Ermysted’s Grammar School boost ahead of big match

Ermysted’s Grammar School will have a home quarter-final in the Daily Mail RBS Under-18 Vase – if they win their delayed fifth-round tie.
The Skipton school host Wirral Grammar School for the right to meet either King Edward’s Birmingham or Leicester Grammar School in the last eight.
Daily Mail RBS Under-18 Cup, fourth round: Wirral 54, Cheadle Hulme 12. Quarter-final draw and result: Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton or Wirral Grammar School v King Edward’s Birmingham or Leicester Grammar School, The Leys School or Oundle v Stockport Grammar School, Reading Blue Coats or Richard Huish v Wallington County Grammar School; Sheldon 3, Ravens Wood 22. Semi-finals: March 11 at Broadstreet RFC, Coventry.
Meanwhile, an unbeaten season and a very comfortable passage to the last eight of the Daily Mail RBS Under-15 Cup underlined the credentials of Leeds Grammar School.
They emphatically brushed aside Whitgift, from South Croydon, 17-3 in the sixth round.
They are now just one game away from an appearance in the final at Twickenham on April 4, where they will face the winners of the game between Trinity, another Croydon school, and Bedford Modern.
Flying full back Tom Gorman scored a hat-trick of tries for Leeds, all from long range.
