Double delight for Idle girls

Idle Juniors' under-12 girls are celebrating after clinching a league and cup double.

They secured the Division One title in the West Riding Girls League with a 3-1 win at home to Westend Lions, the Idle youngsters finishing four points clear at the top of the table.

They then looked to add the cup to their collection and achieved that ambition with a narrow 3-2 win over Rothwell Juniors in the final.

Strikes by Rosie Dawson and Rachel Clegg were backed up by a decisive own goal, with Georgia Tate named player of the match.
