ALPHA United under-14s, who were trailing 3-0 at half-time, completed a remarkable comeback to win 5-4 at Salts Tigers in Division C of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League.
It was not a one-sided first half, however, as United hit the post a few times and had efforts cleared off the line.
A change of tactics and personnel by coach Mohammed Waheed at the interval did the trick, with Zaryab-Ali Rasheed putting a half-volley into the top corner.
He added a second from the restart and soon completed his hat-trick, Sajid Miah also scoring as Alpha went 4-3 ahead.
A good passing move led to the fifth goal by Haroon Shiraz but Moosa Pandor's own goal led to a nervy finish, with Tigers being foiled in their bid for an equaliser.
