DUDLEY Hill Rangers under-11s bounced back from the disappointment of losing their 'Champions League' penalty shoot-out against Albion Sports by winning the Bradford & District Keybury League's Blue Division.

Opponents Rawdon's pitch at Benton Park School had been submerged by the Friday-night deluge so the game was switched to Rangers' ground – and the hosts put in a top-drawer performance to win 7-0.

The introduction of Karlson Ogie off the bench after 15 minutes certainly worked as he glided past two defenders the first time he got the ball and stabbed home from close range.

Anton Tavernier's long-range effort, which stung the palms of the Rawdon keeper before dropping into the net, made it 2-0, before Rawdon really crumbled in the second half, conceding five more goals without reply.

Ogie added two more to complete his hat-trick, while Tavernier was also on target again, with Rhys Hadley and Karl Kwedi both scoring from close range.

It took Rangers' goal tally to 105 for the season and they only suffered two defeats in 22 league and cup matches.

Meanwhile, Eccleshill United Juniors' under-13s are looking to recruit new players who are already at a reasonable standard to join their championship-winning team for next season.

Newly promoted to Division A of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League, the team are going from playing nine-a-side football to 11-a-side.

If you are interested in joining the team, who train at Peel Park on Tuesdays (6-7.30pm) and Saturdays (10-11.30am), contact Paul Clapham on 07950-292737 or e-mail him at claphampaul@gmail.com.

Eccleshill United Juniors' under-14 and under-16 teams also require more players. For more details, contact Carl McGeachy on 07946-067905.
