The Lions lost goalkeeper Adam Cranfield to injury at the start of the second half, replacement Damien Hields conceding a penalty from which Brighouse scored.

Wibsey's under-13s continued their 100 per cent start with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Linthwaite.

Jacob McLoughlin's brace put Wibsey 2-0 ahead and, although Linthwaite replied, he completed his treble shortly before half-time.

Wibsey had a player dismissed in the second half and Linthwaite scored again but Wibsey held out to go top of the table.
