Golfers at South Bradford have brought home trophy after trophy in an unprecedented season of success.
The scratch team achieved one of many firsts for the club by winning the Yorkshire Seventh Division Team Championship, having had to qualify for the event first. Two members of the team, Tom Hall and Tom Pattinson, produced the best gross scores of the day.
The good form of the scratch side continued as South Bradford remained unbeaten in the Bradford Union League, securing promotion to Division Three as champions – nine points ahead of their nearest rivals.
The campaign also saw scratch players picked to play for Bradford.
Not to be outdone, both the rabbits and juniors have enjoyed success.
They finished the season as champions in Division D of the Bradford & District League.
The rabbits also produced the winners of the coveted Fowler Trophy in Simon Boyes (rabbits captain) and John Tiffany, who reigned supreme by beating a host of other teams throughout Yorkshire.
The juniors, who also had representation at inter-district level for Bradford, secured promotion and were winners of the Team Championship at Northcliffe.
Club captain Geoff Walsh said: “We knew we had a number of players at the club with the talent to perform well in any competition and this year it has all come together to deliver an outstanding set of results.
“I am proud of what South Bradford has achieved this season and, with the level of commitment shown by players, organisers and supporters, I’m confident we can continue our winning ways next season.”
The club will celebrate their achievements at their presentation night on November 26.
