Bradford are celebrating after winning the 27th Yorkshire Inter-District Junior Team Championship at Keighley.
Matthew Atter (Hawksworth) produced the best 36-hole score of 141 (72, 69) as the six-strong Bradford side won the event by 13 shots.
Haworth-based William Whiteoak, who used to play at Keighley and is now a member at Bingley St Ives, was a shot further back on 142 (73, 69), the same as team-mate Ben Mountain (Hawksworth).
Calum Hey came in with 147 (73, 74) and Declan Burke 157 (75, 82), with both players members of the host Utley club.
Dan Hawksworth (Hollins Hall) was Bradford’s other scorer with 73, 79 as their 881 aggregate was well clear of second-placed Leeds (894) and East Riding (905) in third.
Keighley secretary Cameron Dawson explained at the presentation that the club had experienced an exceptional rain storm during the night prior to the competition.
It was so bad that the green staff had to turn out at 4am to clear away water from the fairways.
Their good work and a fine sunny day ensured the course was in first-class condition.
