SHIPLEY were among six clubs to make it through to England Golf’s new Club Team Championship final in a qualifier at Fulford.
They finished second behind Waterton Park and will go forward to the show piece at Frilford Heath in Oxfordshire on Friday, August 14, where they will play off against finalists from three other qualifying events.
Waterton Park triumphed with 87 points in wet and windy conditions, with Shipley (85), Whitby (85), Willow Valley (82), Elsham (81) and Rufford Park (80) all doing enough to progress.
The stableford competition features teams of two men and two women with combined handicaps between 50 and 96.
