A Bradford golfer has qualified for an expenses-paid trip of a lifetime and will compete in February’s grand final of the 2013 HowDidiDo National Matchplay Pairs Championship in the Algarve.

John Jennings, a six-handicapper who is a member at Halifax Golf Club, joined his clubmate Chris Whitehead, from Leeds, to qualify after securing one of just two available pairs spots in the second
regional final at the Macdonald Portal Hotel Golf & Spa in Tarporley, Cheshire.

He will now enjoy complimentary return flights to Faro, six nights accommodation at the four-star Monte da Quinta Club and five days’ golf on the South and Laranjal courses, with the prestigious HowDidiDo National Matchplay title up for grabs.

Four competitions (singles, pairs, mixed pairs and senior pairs) culminate at the grand final, with a total of 32 golfers from across the UK fighting it out.

Each will have played up to four qualifying rounds to reach the regional final, with the knockout rounds taking place between June and September.
