Bradford Park Avenue 0, Guiseley 3
The West Riding County Cup quarter-final derby was settled in favour of visitors Guiseley as Bradford Park Avenue slipped limply out of the competition tonight.
Avenue had a weakened starting line-up due to injuries and cup-tied players and the men from Nethermoor were good value for their victory.
Former Avenue player Stuart Rudd began the scoring with a 40th-minute penalty after Adam Muller was fouled.
That was the only goal of the first half but Liam Needham headed Guiseley into a 2-0 lead eight minutes after the break.
Needham put the final nail in Avenue’s coffin with a superb shot from distance four minutes from time.
The best of Avenue’s chances was a Luke Gibson free-kick in the first half but the Lions hit the woodwork twice as they ran out comfortable winners.
