Avenue are crowned champions
Bradford Park Avenue are celebrating after
winning promotion to the UniBond Premier Division.
They clinched the UniBond One North title without kicking a ball tonight after results elsewhere went in their favour.
Curzon Ashton's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle Blue Star and FC United's 1-1 draw at home to Woodley Sports means Avenue cannot be pipped in top spot with one game to go.
Avenue's success vindicates the club's decision to part company with former boss Benny Phillips and install new manager Dave Cameron back in early March.

Congradulations to Bob, Dave Cameran and the lads on winning the league title with one game to spare, it will certainly save a lot nail biteing on saturday at Rossendale in what is now going to be a carnival atmosphere,So lets all enjoy the next few weeks before Dave& Bob prepare for next seasons assalt on a unibond premier league promotion push to put Avenue back to where they belong as a blue square north club.

Whoopee! Amazing! I thought they'd blown it on Saturday.
Congratulations to all involved. Looking forward to next season already. Who knows how far the club will go with Bob Blackburn at the helm.

I live away from the area now,but supported Avenue in the days of Scouler,Gibson, Hector,Atkinson and Gebbie, not forgetting characters such as Alvin Williams, who I think lived behind the ground in a caravan...and winning the Championship now rekindles my Avenue spirit...Brilliant..

Yes many congratulations from another City fan. Good to see you climbing the league, I've also hoped one day we see two teams from this great city in the league.

Well done the Avenue - Again a City fan living on Studley Avenue just up from the Horsfall. Next season I intend to have a wander down the hill on a few occasions to see my 'local' team. The club needs to step up now and attract the extra fans it needs.
