Former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland midfielder Ronnie Whelan is the guest speaker at Avenue’s sportsmans’ dinner at the Midland Hotel in Bradford on Thursday, March 11 (7.30pm).
Whelan was at Anfield for 15 years, making 443 appearances and scoring 73 goals. He won 13 trophies there – six league titles, three League Cups, three FA Cups and, most importantly of all, a European Cup.
Lee Roberts, from Halifax, is the comedian at the function and the MC is Peter Emmett. Tickets cost £50 and are available from Avenue commercial manager Andrew Pinfield on 07753-835449.
Many items of sporting memorabilia will be available for auction and there will also be a raffle.
