BRADFORD Park Avenue are refusing to elaborate on why James Knowles and Nicky Boshell have left the club.

A statement on the National League North club's website said: "Bradford Park Avenue CFC can confirm that James Knowles and Nicky Boshell have left the club, while Shane Killock has returned following his loan spell at Boston United.

"Manager Mark Bower said: 'We are sorry to see James and Nicky leave but thank them for their efforts in several spells at the club and especially for their significant contribution to last year's escape from what looked like certain relegation. Both players have been a pleasure to work with and we wish them good luck for the future'."

The statement continued: "Shane has returned from Boston, where he has gained some much needed game-time, and will go straight in to the squad for Saturday's game against Blyth (Spartans)."

Bower was more forthcoming over Killock, adding: "He missed all of pre-season and the first six weeks of the season and needed some game-time to get match fitness.

"He has been there for a month and now we have a small squad we wanted him back with us."

Avenue have confirmed that Saturday's match will again kick-off at 1pm due to problems with a floodlight pylon.

Another statement on their website added: "All the other lights have been tested and are working, however, and because of this the league have sanctioned a 1pm kick-off for the game."
