BRADFORD Park Avenue got back to winning ways at the weekend after three consecutive defeats in Vanarama National League North but they face a tough test tonight as they look to stay clear of the relegation places.

Mark Bower’s men visit promotion-chasing Darlington 1883.

The Quakers held onto fifth spot at the weekend with a 1-0 home win over mid-table Brackley Town.

That took Darlo’s unbeaten run to four games, winning three and drawing one.

The Quakers lost 3-2 at home to Harrogate Town on the last Saturday of February.

It will be difficult evening for Bradford with a long trip and a game against a side that Martin Gray has primed to reach at least the play-offs, but Avenue manager Mark Bower is just as determined that his charges retain their status.

He made changes at the weekend after a lacklustre display at basement outfit Stalybridge Celtic ended in a 4-3 defeat.

Club captain Ryan Toulson was left out of the staring line-up for the first time this season, with Jake Hibbs coming in at right back.

There was also a start for Emile Sinclair as he led the line, with Oli Johnson sitting out a one-match ban for his sending off in the recent derby against FC Halifax Town.

Bower will have Johnson available again tonight but Saturday’s hard-earned 3-1 win at relegation rivals AFC Telford United has given the Avenue boss selection headaches.

One player guaranteed his place will be hat-trick hero Wayne Brooksby, but Bower will have options in other positions as he looks to engineer an unlikely positive result at Blackwell Meadows.

Albion Sports also face a tough game as they travel to Cleethorpes Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East's top tier.

The Owls are not only leaders of the Premier Division, they are also buoyant after booking a Wembley appearance by reaching the FA Vase final.

Cleethorpes’ 1-0 home win in the second leg of their semi-final against Bromsgrove Sporting at the weekend confirmed their place in the showpiece.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s Albion will be fresh after a free weekend but will still be underdogs as first hosts seventh.

The Owls are only top on goal difference but have four games in hand over joint leaders Pickering Town.

Cleethorpes are the first NCEL side to reach the Vase final since Brigg Town in 2003, and will face Northern League outfit South Shields at Wembley.
