BRADFORD Park Avenue's head coach Alex Meechan, without a win in his 11 games so far this season in Vanarama National League North, has been relieved of his duties.

The decision comes following an eighth consecutive defeat, equalling the worst ever run by the reformed club.

Avenue crashed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle on Saturday at home to Salford City, and sit bottom of the table with three points from ten league games.

However, Avenue's board have confirmed that Meechan will continue in his role as coach of the new Avenue Academy.

Avenue hope to announce Meechan's successor as first-team coach in the next few days.
