BRADFORD Park Avenue and their hosts Chorley will be hoping to avoid yet another draw in this evening’s National North clash.

Avenue have endured stalemates in all three of their fixtures so far and, although the Magpies have only faced two games, they also ended in draws. Bradford have also had last-gasp drama in their three games and that has not been good for the nerves.

A stoppage-time equaliser by Nuneaton Town substitute Joe Ironside robbed Alex Meechan’s side of a deserved victory on Saturday, while Chorley played out a goalless draw with newly relegated Kidderminster Harriers.

Avenue centre back Shaun Killock suffered an injury in the warm-up for Saturday’s home clash and Meechan was forced to make a late change to the teamsheet.

Andy McWilliams came into the starting line-up as right back with assistant player manager Matt Hill switching to the middle.

Meechan said: “It wasn’t clear how bad Shaun’s injury was so we’ve had to have it assessed properly and will make a decision before the game.

"The defence played very well against Nuneaton so there will be no need to rush the player.”

Guiseley are still seeking their first point of the new campaign as they head to North Ferriby United, newly promoted to the National League, for their fourth game this term.

Ferriby have found the step up difficult – after drawing their first game against Braintree they were hammered 6-1 at home by Lincoln City and lost 2-0 at Dover Athletic at the weekend.

Lions boss Mark Bower was pleased with his side’s displays in their first two games, despite ending with defeats, but he is looking for a marked improvement tonight after a poor performance at home on Saturday.

Guiseley were never really in the game as they slumped to a loss to Dagenham & Redbridge.

It is a busy night of non-league football as both of the local Evo-Stik Division One North clubs play their second games of the season.

After both sides opened with wins at the weekend, Farsley Celtic head to Goole AFC, while Brighouse Town make the short trip to Ossett Town.

Silsden are also in action, with the Cobbydalers hosting non-league newcomers Charnock Richard in the Hallmark Security League Division One.
