BRADFORD Park Avenue have allowed another of last season's regulars to leave the club as player movement intensifies ahead of next season.

Richard Marshall has followed club captain Simon Ainge, top scorer Chib Chilaka and player of the season Craig King through the Horsfall exit door.

New manager Alex Meechan and director of football Terry Dolan are reshaping the squad and have been in talks with players.

Avenue are hoping to announce six new signings soon – and they could include at least one from neighbouring National League outfit Guiseley.

Negotiations have been ongoing with a host of targets and Avenue believe they have reached agreement in principle with the men who will form the backbone of the squad for new campaign.

Marshall has joined Evo-Stik League neighbours Farsley Celtic, where he links up again with former Avenue team-mate James Walshaw.

Striker Walshaw, formerly at FC Halifax Town, Darlington and Guiseley, is returning to Throstle Nest for a second time after a previous spell there as an up-and-coming goal-scorer.

With most of the Bradford area clubs now back in pre-season training, and both Guiseley and Eccleshill United in friendly action next Saturday, there will be 'guest' players and trialists involved in match-day action.

Even Campion, newcomers to the non-League ladder, have had more than 30 players at training hoping to impress manager James Bicknell and new first-team coach Hayden Lobley.

Players always keep their options open at this time of year and hedge their bets, so the rumour mill is always in overdrive.

Managers will have their wish lists, those in charge of club budgets will have their limits and the speculation as to who will end up where will continue until the first game of the 2016/17 season gets underway.
