BRADFORD Park Avenue are yet to announce who will be leading the side in the coming season but the club’s board of directors have asked for the supporters to be patient as they strive to make the right appointment.

They ended the last campaign under interim manager Darren Edmondson.

He was asked to take over following Martin Drury’s departure but only until the end of the season, when the club wished to take stock.

It was understood that the board were pleased with Edmondson and his assistant Alex Meechan but there was no need to rush into a decision as director of football Terry Dolan was there to run the day-to-day business in the close season.

Edmondson had put himself in the box seat but the club were happy to sit back to see if anyone else threw their cap into the ring.

The availability of Jim Harvey then led to even more speculation.

Harvey had won the FA Trophy for FC Halifax Town and almost rescued their Vanarama National League status but the Shaymen decided not to renew the short-term contact he had signed when he took over midway through last season.

Avenue put out a press release over the weekend which stated: "Following the conclusion of last season, the manager's situation at Bradford Park Avenue has remained unresolved.

"After comments from supporters and posts on various internet platforms, the club would like to release the following statement:

'The board at Bradford Park Avenue wishes to inform supporters that although no announcement has yet been made regarding the manager's position, they are working hard on making an appointment.

'Offers have been made and are being discussed, and supporters will be informed as soon as it is possible to do so.

"But in the meantime please bear with us'."

It is thought that Dolan is handling discussions with the playing squad in the absence of a first-team manager but the club are keen to have a concrete date for an appointment with the return for pre-season training just a few weeks away.
