BRADFORD Park Avenue were quick off the mark as they held their presentation evening directly after the last game of their season.

The arrangements had been made well in advance and Avenue had secured their Vanarama National League North status and retained the West Riding County Cup but a season-ending 4-1 home defeat to Gainsborough Trinity put a dampener on the start of proceedings.

The party soon got into the swing, though, and Chib Chilaka picked up the top scorers' award.

The striker netted 20 times in the campaign – 16 in the league and four in the cup – to end the season on 49 goals for the club.

The consistent Craig King won the supporters’ player of the season award, succeeding Chilaka as the fans’ choice. King played in all bar one of Avenue's games throughout a long campaign.

The prestigious clubman of the year award went to the hard-working groundsman Neil Fawcett for his efforts over one of the wettest winters in living memory.

Past winners of that gong include former player and manager Martin Drury and the late Maria Bruce, who did such sterling work for the supporters’ club.

For the first time there was a young supporter of the year award, and that went to Harvey Dimbleby, who picked up two accolades as the supporters also presented him with a memento.

Other presentations were made to the club's volunteers, such as the hospitality section, ball-boys and fund-raisers.

There was also an award for Dean Gardner as he was rewarded by being named supporter of the season after attending 55 games, despite suffering with health issues over the year.
