BRADFORD Park Avenue boss Darren Edmondson has no idea if he will be at the club next season but that uncertainty is not affecting his approach to the task of securing Avenue’s National League North status.

When the board of directors turned to Edmondson after parting company with Martin Drury and his number two Jamie Price, it was initially until the end of this campaign.

The former Huddersfield Town and York City player, who as a manager led Barrow to promotion from the same division, was brought in to ensure the club avoided relegation and Wednesday's win over Corby put them six points clear of danger.

Edmondson, who revealed there have been no discussions regarding an extended stay at the Horsfall Stadium, said: “I’m sure the club will be safe in this division but we want to finish as high as we can and end this season on a positive note.

"If I am offered the job then we will look to build on that over the close season, work on the squad and plan a good pre-season.

“But we have no idea what the board have in mind. We’ve been asked to do a job and we’re concentrating on that and putting everything into it.”

Edmondson added: “Myself and Alex (assistant Meechan) are trying to bring some different ways in – a different mindset and attitude for the players, and to set personal goals a little bit higher.

“There are a lot of good players at this club and I’m not saying that they haven’t performed because they have, but I think there is a lot more to them. There is some potential that still needs tapping.

“That takes time – it’s not something that can be done in eight weeks.”
