BRADFORD Park Avenue are expecting to host Nantwich Town in the FA Trophy at the second time of asking tonight following Saturday’s late postponement.

With ground staff and volunteers working on the pitch on the morning of the game and the temperatures expected to rise on a sunny Saturday, the club were hopeful – especially as the pitch at the Horsfall Stadium had passed an early inspection.

Unfortunately, there were still some hard areas on the surface when the match official arrived at 1pm, and the official was forced to call off the tie.

The draw for the third round has been made since then and the winners of this tie now know they will have home advantage against Nantwich’s Evo-Stik Premier Division rivals Stourbridge in the last 16.

Bradford’s new signing Callum Terrell may be watching his new side play from the terraces tonight. The young striker joins on loan from National League outfit Wrexham until the end of the season.

Terrell is awaiting international clearance after signing from the Welsh outfit but would have been ineligible for the Trophy tie in any case.

The 20-year-old former Doncaster Rovers forward could make his Avenue debut at AFC Telford United in the National League North at the weekend.

In action elsewhere tonight, Albion Sports are at home to leaders Worksop Town in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.

Worksop are top on goal difference only as they head to sixth-placed Albion but they do have three games in hand on second-placed Bridlington Town.

In the lower tier of the NCE League, Eccleshill United make the journey to Westella VIP with the Eagles boss Sean Regan looking for a reaction from his players.

Mid-table Eccleshill were humbled 5-0 at lowly Winterton Rangers at the weekend and Regan will be keen to ensure his side put in a better performance against Westella who are just two places below them in the Division One table.
