Silsden 0 AFC Blackpool 1
SILSDEN were knocked out of the North West Counties Men United League Cup by a solitary second-half goal in an incident-filled third-round tie at the Angel Telecom Stadium tonight.
The match finally went ahead at the fifth time of asking due to the wet weather.
Just before the half-hour, Silsden’s Nicky McNally was challenged when through by Blackpool’s Kevan Ford and both ended up being dismissed.
The 68th-minute winner came from Richard Seear following a throw-in. It might have been two but Ed Hall saved Ben Duffield’s spot-kick following a trip in the box.
The West Riding County Cup quarter-final between FC Halifax Town and Bradford Park Avenue was called off for a second time tonight, despite attempts to stage the match at Shelley FC in Huddersfield.
Eccleshill United’s home game against Penistone Church was also shelved due to a waterlogged pitch.
