FOLLOWING Saturday’s postponement, Bradford Park Avenue may have to look at extending the loan of young Burnley keeper Conor Mitchell.

Bradford boss Martin Drury drafted in the Clarets keeper for a month to cover for regular No 1 Jon Stewart.

The experienced Stewart has been skippering the side during club captain Simon Ainge’s long absence due to injury but picked up a three-game ban after being sent off in the FA Trophy win over Lincoln City.

With games in the National League North and the two cup competitions that Avenue are still competing in being victims of the severe wet weather, a one-month spell might not cover the period that Stewart is sidelined.

Bradford and FC Halifax Town are to make another attempt to play their West Riding County Cup quarter-final on Wednesday at a neutral ground.

The new venue for the tie will be Shelley FC in Huddersfield. Shelley FC’s ground is in Storthes Hall Park, the student accommodation area for Huddersfield University students.

Farsley Celtic’s Kyle Hancock joined North West Counties League Premier Division outfit Silsden on loan for a month just before Christmas but has yet to feature.

The Cobbydalers have suffered five consecutive postponements since Hancock joined them.

That has been a major disappointment to Celts boss Neil Parsley, who agreed to the short-term deal because Hancock had made more appearances for his parent club from the bench than he had in the starting line-up.

Hancock had become frustrated and desperately wanted more game-time.

The Cobbydalers offered that and were excited to get the services of the player but Hancock is yet to get even a minute of competitive action, leaving him, Parsley and Silsden all very disappointed.

With Farsley flying up the Evo-Stik Division One North table and on a nine-game winning run in all competitions, Hancock will need to be match fit when he returns if he is to have any chance of forcing his way back into the team.

Loan arrangements in non-league football work on a dual registration basis, so Hancock will be registered to play for Silsden all of this season but the loan conditions are that the player and the Cobbydalers must have the permission of the player’s parent club.
