LAST week’s penalty king Richard Marshall is set to make his 200th appearance for Bradford Park Avenue tomorrow in the rearranged National League North clash against Curzon Ashton.

Marshall netted twice from the spot in last Saturday’s 3-0 home win over Lowestoft Town which lifted Bradford up to 14th place and another maximum at Horsfall Stadium tomorrow would take them even closer to the top half of the table.

However, they will be coming up against a side in fine form as Curzon, who were only promoted last May, have won four and drawn one of their last five league games and are in a lofty ninth place.

Their last two outings brought back-to-back wins in which they scored seven goals without conceding.

Their last defeat was 2-0 at second-placed Solihull Moors, with their previous loss being by the same scoreline to leaders AFC Fylde back in August.

Midfielder Luke Dean and skipper Simon Ainge remain doubtful for Avenue. Dean limped out after just 23 minutes in last Saturday’s victory after being hit by a high tackle, which earned Lowestoft’s Ross Jarvis a yellow card.

Ainge has missed the last two games after picking up an injury in the 2-0 defeat at Stockport County a fortnight ago. Billy Priestley and Tom Burgin have been in the centre of defence since.

Bradford boss Martin Drury arranged a friendly in midweek against Tadcaster but neither Ainge nor Dean were involved on Tuesday.

Drury said: “It didn’t look too bad for Luke at first, just a bit of a twisted knee, but we’ll have another look at it before we make a decision on his comeback.

“Simon has been struggling since the Stockport game and if it doesn’t show signs of improvement very soon we’ll look to book him in for a scan so we can tell just what the damage is.”

Avenue are also in decent form themselves going into the Curzon game, having won their last two competitive fixtures by a margin and with clean sheets. Before last weekend’s win they beat Albion Sports 7-0 in the West Riding County Cup.
