BRADFORD Park Avenue cannot allow their recent exertions to affect their momentum in the league tomorrow.

Martin Drury's men played two close and physically punishing games against Salford City, which ended in an exit from the FA Cup after extra time in the midweek replay.

Now a drained Avenue side host Gloucester City in National League North and must focus on a four-game unbeaten run in the competition that has lifted them out of the relegation places.

Avenue's victory over fellow strugglers Brackley Town a fortnight ago was their last league game and that win sees them going into this weekend two places above third-bottom Gloucester, albeit on goal difference and having played a game less.

The Horsfall outfit could hand a debut to recent signing Jake Scott after he was cup-tied for the third qualifying-round tie against Salford.

Drury has freshened up his squad with the introduction of Scott from Worksop Town and the loaning out of Adam Clayton and close-season signing Paul Marshall.

Clayton is on his way back from a facial injury and has joined Farsley on dual registration, although the Celts are keen to make the move permanent. Former FC Halifax Town midfielder Marshall has joined Ashton United on a 28-day deal.

Drury's opposite number this weekend, Tigers boss Tim Harris, has also made changes to his squad over the last fortnight.

Connor Thompson and Joe Parker have gone out on loan and they have recaptured former Everton winger Femi Orenuga.

The 22-year-old played for Gloucester on loan last season and returns for a second spell, with Harris looking for him to add more creativity to his side.

Avenue have also been struggling for goals this campaign, with only Richard Marshall's penalty to show for 210 minutes of football against Salford.
