BRADFORD Park Avenue face another of the sides relegated from the top tier of non-League football as they travel to Nuneaton Town on their first Saturday away day of the new National League North season.

Nuneaton are looking for a hat-trick of wins, while Martin Drury's side are hoping to avoid an unwanted treble as Luke Dean has been sent off in both of their previous two games.

The midfielder was shown a second yellow card after the final whistle on the opening day as Avenue drew 2-2 with Alfreton Town and again, with more than 20 minutes remaining, in Tuesday's 1-1 stalemate at Stalybridge Celtic.

Despite that, Drury feels his side have some momentum from their unbeaten start and they are looking to build on it.

"We will take the positives from our first two games, try to keep 11 men on the pitch and look to maintain our positive start," said the Horsfall boss.

"They may have been in a different division to us last year but we know a fair bit about them because I watched a lot of Ilkeston last season under Kevin Wilson and he is their (Nuneaton) manager now.

"They have taken six points from two games – and they were good wins at Chorley and then at home to Brackley Town last Tuesday, so they've had a very good start.

"They will come into this game full of confidence under a manager who did well last season and brought some of his players and all of his philosophy to Nuneaton."

The home side are one of five clubs in the division to have a 100 per cent start. They have four players who have already got off the mark this term, one of those scorers being well-travelled former Premier League striker Marlon Harewood.

In contrast, Avenue have just one marksman so far as midfielder Michael Potts has netted all three of their goals. He will be high on confidence and his brace on the opening day were both superb finishes.

Despite two games in four days for players who were just off the pre-season treadmill, both Wilson and Drury name fully-fit squads for the game.

Drury said: "I honestly think that Nuneaton will be one of the best sides we face in our first ten games.

"They are a very good side with very good players throughout the team and they are one of my tips for promotion this season. This is going to be a big test of us but it's one we're all looking forward to."
