Beavers is so eager at Bramham
Host club member Lee Beavers (M21) won the 3.29km Light Green course in 25min 49sec when Airienteers staged a district event at Bramham Park, Ruth Jones (W50) being first woman home in fourth.
Over 200 runners took part in all over courses of varying distance and technical difficulty planned by Mike Cox, including woodland and parkland.
Baildon's Steve Watkins (M35) was first local runner home in third in 40.57 over the longest course (Blue, 7.9km), with Tim Patterson (M21) and David Bowman (M35) also figuring in the top ten out of 70.
Almost 80 runners competed on the 4.28km Green course, with veteran international Ruth Ker (W40) from Leeds third in 33.19, Paul Moore (M40) and Dave Shelley (M55) being other locals in the top ten.
Ben Gugan (W12) and fast-improving Mark Penny (M14) were third and fourth on the 2.67km Orange course, and Laura King was Airienteers' sole finisher on the 1.95km Yellow course in sixth.
Ben Say (M12) was one of only two Airienteers winners with his victory on the 1.73km White course in 15.40, with Holly Avis (W10) third.
Other Airienteers members competed at a regional event at Hampsfell, near Grange-over-Sands.
Airienteers had several junior winners - Joe Woodley (M12) of Guiseley, George Stevens (M18) of Ilkley and Florence Haines (W16) of Ilkley.
Ben Stevens (M21), of Ilkley was second in the 9.59km M21 race - the longest of the day.
Veteran international Peter Haines, also of Ilkley, won the 6.55km M50 race by five
minutes, while fast-improving Martyn Gill from Skipton won the 5.08km M55 race in 47.22.
