The 13th Guiseley Gallop will be held on Easter Sunday 23rd March at 10.30am from the West Side Retail Park, Guiseley.
The 10km race will follow its traditional route, including stretches along the Leeds-Liverpool canal towpath and through Esholt village and woods, combining sections on road and trail.
The race has grown in popularity over the years and in 2007 had nearly 500 finishers. Prizes are awarded for finishers in 5-year categories.
The 2008 event will see its furthest-ever entry. Karen Nichol and her husband from Adelaide have entered the race and will make it a family affair by running with John Bolton, Karen's father, who lives in York.
Karen is currently training in temperatures of 30C in South Australia. Peter Rawnsley, the Gallop organiser, has promised her especially warm weather for race day.
Further details are available via organising club, Skyrac AC, on (07779) 748301.
