For the benefit of newer members the club explains that this championship is open to everyone, regardless of level of running ability. You score points based on your finishing position in relation to other club members and gain bonus points for improving your times over the relevant distances.
The championship is organised on an "age-graded" basis so it allows our more mature members to compete on a relatively equal basis with younger members!
Runners are neither expected nor required to take part in all the races, as only the best 6 scoring events count towards your final points tally. For those who do at least 6 races, we give a mini trophy. A quick look at the schedule shows that you don’t need to run more than 5 miles to qualify for a trophy.
