Baildon Runners draw places for the 2009 Flora London Marathon

At the Christmas party on December 5th, the club held a draw for three guaranteed places amongst those who were unsuccessful in the official Flora London Marathon ballot. This was an increase on the usual two places as a result of a revised distribution system.

The lucky winners were Rod Pegg, Ian Ferris and Phil Worsley.

The club only knows of one member who was successful in the ballot; Bob Shimmin. Kevin Cartwright has a place by virtue of carrying forward his 2008 place, whilst John Cawley and Peter Vickers both withdrew from 2008 due to injury and thus have places for 2009.

Jim Parrish also has a 2009 place having qualified under the "good for age" criteria.
